At this point, I've been running Torrent Ratio Keeper for two weeks, and have had nothing but great success with it. Over this time, I've seen my ratios really jump up and my download speed has been more consistently fast than it ever has in the past. I started out just looking for a way to boost my uTorrent speed, but ended up finding TRK to be a more robust and useful tool.
Here's some highlights:
- Open ports are inherently insecure. When running a torrent client, you usually have to open a port, potentially exposing yourself to viruses, worms, and trojans that might take advantage of this. While running TRK, you can often keep your ratio high enough to run torrents without having to open a port, and without sacrificing uTorrent speed.
- The ratio boosting effect of the software is amazing. Besides the effect of speeding up your downloads, the ratio itself is a huge bonus to users of trackers which offer credit for ratios. Using the "Seeder mode" present in the Monster Version, I can prevent my download traffic from being counted, and really collect a lot of ratio all at once.
- Statistics – I was surprised how much I enjoyed this feature. At first I thought it would just be a simple tool to see how well Torrent Ratio Keeper was working. After getting used to it, I find myself checking it often, just to see how much I've uploaded over the course of the day or week. With downloads going a lot of the time, this helps give me a very good idea of my uTorrent speed, and how steadily it's been performing.
- Speed! Last but not least, the thing that started my search, this boosts my uTorrent speed nicely, letting me get the most out of my internet connection, and making more efficient use of my own time. Less waiting around for downloads in progress means more time spent enjoying the completed downloads.
Overall, I'm enjoying this program quite a bit. It's made my uTorrent speed quicker, and given me a few nice perks as well. Just the extra ratio alone was worth installing it for.
